Catamarans in Australia

Australia is the sixth-largest country in the world and the biggest in Oceania. It is divided in six states and national territories: New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Northern Territory (NT) and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Situated in the Southern Hemisphere, it includes various islands in the Pacific, Indian and Antarctic Oceans. It has an area of 25,760 square km, and territorial waters of 12 nautical miles, or about 20 km.
The largest part of Australia is desert or semi-desert, but the southeast and southwest zones enjoy a mild climate and reasonably fertile soil. The northern part has a tropical climate and is composed of areas of tropical forest, savannah and desert. Each year this continent receives about 5 million tourists

Any tour of Australia must include a visit to the Great Barrier Reef. It is the biggest coral reef in the world and extends for more than 1200 km One should also take in Uluru, the second most important monolith in the world, and the Great Artesian Well, the world’s biggest and deepest water well. Furthermore, one must visit Sydney, or the cities of Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide. This last town, known as the “City of Churches”, is situated on the coast in the Fleurieu Peninsula.

In Australia, autumn begins in March and in the North the rainy season begins. At this time the temperature, of both the air and the water, stays around 25 to 30 degrees Celsius. Normally the wind blows from the southwest at a force between 3 and 6 on the Beaufort scale. The best period for navigating is from September to December, but the Whitsunday islands for example can be considered an ideal site all the year round
