San Diego is a city, which lies in the extreme southwest of the State of California, which in itself occupies the Southwest corner of the United States. The county borders with Tijuana, Lower California, Mexico. The capital of San Diego County, the city is famous for its temperate climate and its many beaches. It is the second biggest city in California, and the seventh biggest in the country.
San Diego is an important tourist destination, attracting many local and foreign tourists. The climate, the beaches and the available attractions combine to make it an appealing tourist option.
The California coast stretches from the mild tropical beaches of San Diego, near the Mexican border, up to the rocky coasts near Oregon. In the south of the State the warm waters of the Pacific, and the famous Californian waves, attract many tourists who come to enjoy the palm-shaded beaches. As one moves north, the cost becomes more beautiful, but the water turns colder, and sandy beaches become progressively scarcer. In the north of California, rather than swimming, the preferred activities are coastal rock climbing, and visiting isolated beaches, whose waters are home to seals, otters or whales.
San Diego, the seventh largest city in the country, has such a wonderful climate that the magazine “Holiday Magazine” described it as the only place with a perfect climate! With its Mediterranean climate, the days in San Diego are warm and sunny, with low humidity. The average daytime temperature is around 24ºC and in winter rarely goes below 13ºC.
