Sail Yachts in Split
Split is a southern Croatian city and a seaport on the coast of Dalmatia, on the shores of the Adriatic Sea. Situated 380 km from Zagreb, Croatia’s capital city, Split is the main city in Dalmatia and the most important in the whole of the Adriatic. As well as a major fishing harbour and naval base, it is a cultural hotspot and an industrial zone where ships, cement, plastic, wood, wine and processed foods are produced. The city is a prominent tourist destination popular with visitors from Dalmatia. Situated on a hill at an altitude of 1,330 m, Split’s old quarter is an architectural gem.
Split’s harbour is sheltered from the southern wind by a large breakwater. The harbour has 360 berths, a reception, a bureau de change, a laundry, toilet and shower facilities, a restaurant, a grocer’s, a workshop for repairs, a shop selling nautical items, 10 cranes and a parking area.
The closest airport is that of the city of Split itself, some 20 km away.
