Sail Yacht in Southampton
Southampton is a city in the south of England, and one of the main ports in the British Isles. It lies about halfway between Portsmouth and Bournemouth, at some 110 Km southeast of London. It is the city nearest to the New Forest. It is situated at the northernmost part of Southampton Water, on the estuaries of the river Test and the river Itchen.
Its port is famous for having seen off the Titanic on her maiden voyage.
Southampton has a temperate maritime climate, which will say that it is rather mild, with temperatures that do not fall far below zero in winter, and not much over 32ºC in summer. It is often cloudy with frequent rains, and indeed the whole country is very wet. The best time to visit is from May to September.
