Canada is the second largest country in the world, with a surface area of 9.970.610 km², extending across six time zones. It has 10 provinces and 3 territories.

Being such a big country it has many tourist destinies. Wherever you look, you’ll find a multitude of cultural, recreational and ecological activities all the year round. One can enjoy the many museums, seasonal festivals, and the interesting nightlife that each province and territory has to offer.

Canada is also a country of great natural beauty, which means that most of the outdoor activities are very popular, whether these be skiing, bicycling, hiking, camping, sightseeing, or even ice sailing.

The Canadian territories are surprisingly varied: fertile plains ideal for agriculture, vast mountainous areas, lakes and rivers. In the Great North, the Arctic tundra follows on from natural forests.

In such a large territory the climate varies greatly. The glacial icecaps north of the parallel 70 remain permanently frozen, in contrast to the luxuriant coastal vegetation in the west of British Columbia. Nevertheless it has in general four clearly defined seasons, especially along the border with the United States.

In the summer, maximum temperatures can reach 35ºC during the day, while in winter minimum temperatures of –25ºC are normal. Less drastic extremes are found during spring and autumn.
