Cuba is the Caribbean destination that stands out from the rest for the variety of its tourist attractions. Although in the first place it remains a place of beaches and sun, it also boasts important cultural and historic attractions, not to mention its scenery, its ecology, cities, its medicinal spas, all of which combine to create a diversity attractive to a wide section of the tourist market, to a wide spectrum of interests among the potencial visitors..

Cuba is the largest and most westerly of the Great Antillas and is strategically placed at the entrance to the Gulf of Mexico. Its southern coast is bathed by the Caribbean, while to the north one finds the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.


Havana is Cuba’s capital, and without a doubt its main tourist destiny. It is a beautiful city facing the Florida Straits wherein all kinds of attractions are concentrated: magnificent beaches in the Eastern Beaches, hotels and restaurants catering for all tastes and economies, marinas and centres for all kinds of water sports, architectural and historic values, mainly concentrated in Old Havana, now declared Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO, Revolution Square, and Columbus’s cemetery in the Vedado etc.

The climate in Cuba fits into the realm of moderate subtropical due to the closeness to the Tropic of Cancer. Its long, thin shape running from east to west ensures the refreshing action of the trade winds, and the sea breezes. During its short winter cold air masses from the north arrive, but only for a short time. Throughout the year the temperature oscillates between 20ºC and 35ºC, rarely dropping to 10ºC. The eastern region enjoys a warmer climate than the western part, and the variations between day and night temperatures are less noticeable along the coastal regions than inland. Those who like beaches will be pleased to know that the average water temperature is over 25ºC.
