Sail Yach in Nosy-Be

Nosy-Be is the largest of a series of islands running along the northwest coast of the main island of Madagascar, in the Mozambique Channel. Nosy-Be lies about 8 km from the coast at the entrance of the Ampasindava Bay. Beside her one finds various smaller islands: Nosy Komba, Nosy Mitsio, Nosy Sakatia and Nosy Tanikely.

Nosy-Be is the most important and most visited tourist centre in Madagascar. This volcanic island has an area of around 300 km², reaching a length of 24 Km and a maximum width of 18 Km with a perimeter of 75 km.
On the island there are two important cities: Andoany (formerly Hell-Ville), capital of the island, where the island’s port is to be found, and Dzamandzar, which has a sugar refinery.

The climate is tropical and the coastal regions are hot and humid. The rainy period lasts from March to July. The central plain is dry and arid, the highlands to the northwest are the coolest, and the rainy periods are from November to December, and from February to May
