The sunny Baltic coasts are the perfect place to charter a yacht, sailing boat or catamaran with family or friends and spend an enjoyable holiday.
Without a doubt, Germany is mainly a continental country. Although it may not seem evident at first, the truth is that Germany has two coastal regions in the Baltic Sea and the North Sea that are great for sailing and thus attract fans of boat charters, in general. Every summer, crowds of tourists flock to places such as Rügen Island, Fehmarn Island (connected to the continent by a bridge constructed in 1963) and Kiel Bay for the sandy beaches, cliffs and forests. Along the coast of the North Sea, the climate is a bit harsher but this won't stop us from enjoying a holiday at sea, spotting pods of seals or visiting the islands along the coast such as Sylt, a summer spot for the jet-set, Amrum or Förh. No matter which coast you choose, your cruising experience will always be enriched with a wide range of cultural events and entertainment options. Among the most notable events are the Anniversary of the Port of Hamburg (in May), the week of regattas in Kiel (in June), Walpurgis Night in Goslar (30th of April) and the International Festival of Fireworks in Hanover (from May to September).
