We set sail from the island of Skiathos, one of the most visited in Greece. Alongside Mykonos and Santorini, it has become a symbol of the Greek islands that so strongly attract sailors. Stopping on this spectacular island guarantees stunning landscapes and breathtaking blue-water coves. Don’t miss the chance to anchor at Lalaria Beach to admire its iconic stone arch and enjoy a swim, and be sure to visit the Blue Caves of Galazia Spilia.

The next stop on our journey is the fabulous island of Alonissos. Let’s just say that its waters are considered the clearest in the entire Aegean—reason enough not to miss it. This rugged, vegetation-covered island is one of the most beautiful in the archipelago. Its shores are dotted with small islets that provide a haven for native wildlife. Get ready to unwind in this stunning setting that still remains untouched by mass tourism.

From Alonissos, we head northeast to reach the island of Kyra Panagia, also known as Pelagos. This is a virtually uninhabited island, so its charm is guaranteed. In addition to enjoying its coves and beaches of golden sand and turquoise waters, you can visit a monastery located on the eastern side of the island, where a single monk lives.

Skyros is a small island steeped in mythology. Legend has it that it was the hiding place of Achilles, where his mother, Thetis, disguised him as a girl among the daughters of King Lycomedes to prevent him from going to Troy. It is also known in mythology as the place where Theseus, king of Athens, died. Its crystal-clear waters and sea caves are already reason enough to visit, but it's also the best island to experience traditional architecture and rich folk traditions up close. In the southern part of the island, you’ll find small coves and numerous caves that are home to the Mediterranean monk seal, a protected species.

Peristera takes us back to a place of deep peace. Its small size remains uninhabited, which gives it a special charm, along with beautiful, rarely visited coves—always a welcome treat. Anchoring off its coast is a privilege. Lush nature blends with the shoreline, giving it a wild, untamed look that invites exploration. Diving enthusiasts will find extra allure here, as the coast hides a shipwreck where thousands of intact amphorae were discovered. The Greek government has turned it into an underwater archaeological museum open to the public.

The wonderful island of Skopelos offers lush vegetation and stunning scenery: its traditional architecture of small white houses dotted with chapels is well worth a visit. With a rental boat, it's easy to reach each of its beaches and coves that are otherwise inaccessible by road. Some of the most famous include Panormos, Milia, Sares, Ayios Constantinos, Glisteri, and especially Castri, Limonari, Pánormos, Stafilos, and Velani. Many of them have a naturist tradition, so those who enjoy this practice will find a peaceful haven to sunbathe freely. And ABBA fans can visit the famous church from the movie Mamma Mia, Agios Ioannis, located in the northeastern part of the island.

Back in Skiathos to conclude our itinerary through the Sporades Islands, we can enjoy the island’s marina. It offers a wide range of services and hospitality venues, giving us the chance to take in the area’s beauty as well as the lively social scene that surrounds it. After checking out from the boat, we can go for a walk nearby—just five minutes away is Skiathos’ main street, the perfect place to get a feel for authentic Greek life.
