A southern European country and part of the European Community, Greece is situated in the south of the Balkan Peninsula. The territory of Greece includes its mainland, the Ionian Islands, the island of Crete and almost all the islands of the Aegean Sea.

Despite the Greek peninsula being the smallest of those in southern Europe, it boasts the most extensive coastline.Generally  warm and dry, the country’s climate is wholesome.
