Embark around 5 p.m.: the boat will be your home for the next week. After check-in and provisioning, you have two options: stay in the marina and enjoy an unhurried dinner if the weather isn’t cooperating, or drop anchor in a nearby cove and enjoy your first sunset in Greek waters. In the latter case, we suggest heading to Sounion Bay, about 5–6 miles away, where you can anchor near the Temple of Poseidon and admire it at sunset from your boat. The golden glow it takes on at dusk is gorgeous.

Set a south‑west course towards Poros early in the morning. It can take around 4–5 hours to get there. Our advice is to leave at dawn and have breakfast during the crossing. Enter through the channel next to Galatas and you’ll be greeted by a postcard‑worthy scene: the little houses right by the sea and the clock tower with its bluish hue. We anchored nearby and walked up to the tower. It’s a great way to stretch your legs. In the afternoon, enjoy a swim and some downtime at Russian Bay, where you’ll find the ruins of an old Russian shipyard. In our case, we returned to Poros and strolled along the quay at sunset. We decided to have dinner in a traditional Greek taverna to savour its exquisite cuisine.

We recommend sailing south to Spetses and then retracing your route afterwards. Spetses is a very green island compared to the nearby ones, with pine trees, fine‑sand beaches and beautiful coves. If you visit one of those beaches, such as Paralia Zogerias, you’ll see that boats moor “the Greek way”: they drop anchor, back towards the shore and tie a couple of lines to land. Other beaches you can visit include Agios Mamas in town, Agioi Anargiroi and Agia Paraskevi on the western side of the island, and near the town you’ll also find College Beach and Agia Marina. Cars aren’t allowed on Spetses; locals get around on motorbikes or bicycles. The main town is well worth a visit if you feel like going for a stroll or enjoying an ice cream along the seafront. A real treat.

A short hop and you’ll find yourself in Ermioni, back on the mainland. It’s well worth a visit and fits perfectly into the return route. We can offer suggestions, but the choice is entirely yours. It’s well sheltered, and there are several anchorage spots where you can spend the night. The beaches in this area are beautiful, and the old part of town with its historical sites and the lively nightlife is part of its charm. When we were here, we loved walking around the Bisti peninsula at sunset, located on the eastern tip of Ermioni, with a few archaeological remains and lovely little coves perfect for a swim.

A short hop takes you to Hydra, an island where vehicles are also banned. Here, the means of transport are donkeys or water taxis. The silence and the roar of the sea set the island’s pace. Hydra, with its neoclassical mansions and naval history, stole our hearts. Wander its cobbled lanes, follow trails to hidden coves, or simply sit at a waterfront terrace… here, time moves slower, and every moment tastes like legend.

On your way back to the starting point, we recommend stopping on the southern side of Aegina. A good place to spend the night could be Klima Beach or the nearby Mourgiotis Beach. They’re usually not very crowded, so you can enjoy your last moments of peace and quiet. If you feel like trying a local restaurant, you can head over to Perdika; it lies a bit further west and adds roughly four miles to the route in total, round trip.

Today is the last day of the voyage. It’s going to be a long one, so—as on day one—we recommend setting off early toward Lavrion, having breakfast under way, and savoring these final hours along the Greek coast. If you couldn’t visit Sounion on the first day, we recommend stopping today. It’s worth it. You must be back at the base before 5 p.m., refuel with gasoline and water, and complete check-out. As a final touch to this adventure, we enjoyed a fresh‑fish dinner on shore. And if you still need a souvenir for the family, today’s the day.
On Saturday morning, you must disembark before 9 a.m. If you have a few hours to spend in the area, we recommend renting a vehicle or taking a taxi to the ancient theatre of Thorikos, or booking an archaeological guided tour in the surroundings. Or you can simply enjoy some of the city’s most iconic spots, such as the Kyprianos forest, the French Staircase, the mineralogical museum or the ruins of the old harbour warehouses, among others.
